It is fair to say that BetBright doesn’t have the history behind it that other big name brands do. BetBright hasn’t been around since the dawn of time; it wasn’t founded by two men before gambling was even legalised. However, that, in itself, doesn’t make it any the less kosher. It was, in fact, founded fairly recently, in 2013, by Irish trio Marcus Brennan, Richard Brennan and Tadgh O’Toole.
This is a company that develops and operates its own sportsbetting and online casino platform instead of a platform and system provided by another operator. The company is constantly expanding. In 2015, just two years after its initial conception, it expanded its sportsbetting by incorporating virtual games from Betradar; then, in 2016, top racehorse owner and businessman Rich Ricci became the new Executive Chairman. This evolution led to the company winning ‘Best In-House Products’ award at the 2016 EGR operator awards, swiftly followed by the ‘Best Football Betting Product’ just one month later.
In February 2018 it announced even more growth plans with the aim to be a disruption in the industry, wanting to gain over 130,000 customers and double its revenue. However, does it have what it takes to do that? BetBright obviously has big ambitions, but is it good enough to see them through? In this BetBright review we will check out everything it has got to offer and whether we believe it has what it takes to reach its lofty ambitions.
BetBright is pretty new on the scene compared to many others, and this is reflected in its sports offering. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not bad, but there aren’t as many sports on offer as many other more well-established companies. Fortunately, BetBright does cater for all the major UK sporting markets. If you want to place your wagers on the normal sports, such as footie and horse racing then you’ll have plenty of markets, tournaments and events to choose from; however, if you are looking for something a little more unique then you may have to search elsewhere.
Ultimately, this is a sportsbook that caters for the mainstream UK and US sports and events. There is an impressive amount of variety for football and horse racing as well as decent markets for tennis, golf, cricket and American sports. This should be suitable for most punters around. All of the sports on offer are:
|Horse Racing||Football||Golf||Virtual Sports||Greyhounds|
|Ice Hockey||Motor Racing||Rugby Union||Rugby League||Snooker|
It isn’t just real sports you are able to bet on with BetBright; you also have the option of placing your money on virtual sports should you so wish. You can choose to bet on virtual football and virtual tennis alongside virtual racing, virtual greyhounds, virtual trotting and virtual speedway that offer races every three minutes. Unfortunately, there aren’t any eSports, TV, Specials or Political options available at this moment, which may be something that might be worth adding if BetBright are serious about competing with the big names in the near future.
BetBright offers a very decent amount of live in-play betting options so you are able to follow your sport live. BetBright live betting is definitely one of the quicker and more efficient products out there. There is a decent list of all the current events as well. Another nice touch is the clear calendar that you are able to look through using the tabs, in order to check out what is happening; this is located clearly on the in-play page. In all, the organisation of the in-play is great and makes it very easy to use.
Not only is it easy to use, but you’ll also find that there are a decent amount of markets available for the in-play action. It may not tell you how many markets there are on the main page, but simply click on the ‘more’ button and you can see for yourself. That is one area that could be improved, but it was relatively minor because on the whole, the in-play offering at BetBright is definitely pretty decent.
There is also the BBTV – BetBright TV live streaming service, which is available for funded account holders. This brings live streams right to your desktop. You can access these streams from the top bar menu. BetBright also has a blog that give you tips and news; it also offers a statzone where it goes into depth about current events happening. This is definitely a great addition to your live in-play betting.
One problem that usually arises with newer and smaller bookmakers is that they can’t compare with the bigger bookies when it comes to odds. However, we can safely say that this is not the case with BetBright at all. This sportsbook can definitely hold its own. BetBright appears to be well aware of the odds currently on offer in the industry and use this knowledge to offer better odds.
If you’re a fan of horse racing betting, then you will definitely love this bookmaker. It undoubtedly has some of the best odds for horse racing on the market and also offers an impressive market to go alongside that. However, that isn’t to say that other odds are bad because of this. Apparently it has managed to offer great horse racing odds without sacrificing the rest. Considering this is a newish bookie, it’s rather impressive.
It seems to us that BetBright haven’t focussed so much on delivering a wide variety of sports, but it has more focussed on delivering great odds for the sports it does offer. In all fairness, great odds on horse racing is probably more important to many than being able to bet on paddle boarding….
With most sportsbook welcome bonuses, they are aimed solely at sportsbetting. However, BetBright have come at it from a different angle. The current BetBright sign-up bonus is deposit £20 and play with £70. The reason this is so different is because
1) it’s asking you to ‘deposit’ not wager and
2) you get £25 sports and £25 casino bonus.
Visually, this looks like a great offer – you don’t even have to bet your money to get it. Plus you get £50 to play with on top. However, we needed to check out the terms and conditions before we knew for sure that it was a decent welcome bonus.
Firstly, you need to make sure that you opt-in when you register or you’ll miss out, so be careful. Also, you will not be eligible to receive the offer if you deposit via Skrill or Neteller. With the sport bonus (£25) there is a 5-times wagering requirements which is not bad, but higher than some. You also have only 10 days to fulfill the wagering requirements. With the £25 casino bonus, there is a 40-times wagering requirement and this also has 10 days in which to fulfill them.
All in all, although the bonus is pretty decent and encourages you to try out something other than sports betting, it has pretty tough wagering requirements and tight time limits as well; so in our view it’s good, but it could be better.
10 Million Weekly Challenge
BetBright is currently giving ten customers a chance to win £10 million by accurately predicting the first goal scorer, correct score and the time of the first goal in the 2018 World Cup. To qualify, you need to complete specific challenges as displayed on the website. Customers will be awarded with ten points per completed challenge on a given day and to complete a challenge, customers must have placed a minimum stake of £10 on that challenge.
There are many other conditions you need to check out, but this is a great and unique challenge that could be incredibly profitable to the winner. It’s definitely worth checking out of you’re a football and World Cup bettor!
In Play Special
There are also in-play special offers available. Currently there is a 20% back as a free bet on all net daily losses. To take advantage of this promotion you need to opt-in and it is only available to app and mobile users. The highest amount you can get back is £100 and the minimum is £10. The minimum odds are 1/5 and a minimum of 3 in-play bets per day must be placed to qualify. There are various other important T&Cs so be sure to read them through carefully.
The promotions aren’t necessarily as forthcoming as other online sportsbooks but the ones you do get are decent. This is one area that could possibly be improved upon in our opinion. When it comes to lifetime bonuses more could be done. However, there will be various offers you will be sent throughout your time there, such as enhanced odds, free bets etc. so keep an eye on your inbox for more special offers.
Odds and markets aside, it really is important to check out the security of a site, particularly a newer one like BetBright. The first thing that can be said is that it has a license from the UK Gambling Commission. This means you can rest assured that everything is kosher and above board. The UK Gambling Commission will only ever certify safe and secure gambling sites. Also, as one of the strictest governing bodies in the industry, you will always know that you are in the best hands possible and that you will not be ripped off.
Also, BetBright frequently reviews its security measures and protocol to make sure everything is up to date. It utilises top end encryption methods – the best in the business – to make sure that every transaction is completed in a safe and secure manner. Also, all of its banking processes are carried out by big names such as MasterCard and Visa – who uses Verified by Visa. These financial institutions have their own top security measures which makes it even more safe.
As well as this, BetBright takes its responsible gambling very seriously. It links itself to names such as GamStop and BeGambleAware to make sure that if you feel that you or someone you know may have a gambling problem, then you will have access to organisations that can help you out.
When it comes to the sheer amount of payment methods available on the market, you’ll be surprised to know that BetBright doesn’t offer too many. It doesn’t have the vast amount on offer as many others, but those it uses are safe and secure. Its current methods are:
|Visa / Visa Debit||✓||✓|
Like most online bookmakers, all deposits you make via any of the methods are instant, so you can get going immediately. There is a £10 minimum deposit in place for all methods but the maximum deposit varies depending on your chosen method. Also, be aware that should you choose to deposit via Neteller or Skrill, then you will not be able to claim your welcome bonus, so you need to factor this into the equation.
When it comes to withdrawing, the time it takes varies on your chosen method. Should you choose card then it will take between 3 to 5 days depending on your bank. On the other hand, eWallets take up to just 24-hours to process. However, be aware that all withdrawals will be subject to security checks which may take a little time to complete. There are also limitations attached that you might want to be aware of. The minimum you can withdraw at one time is £10; however the maximum is just £4,000 per week. So, if you do manage a big win, then it may take some time to get it all out.
BetBright currently only accepts GBP as a currency, so if you deposit from another country then it will convert into GBP.
The BetBright Customer Support is pretty good in what it offers. Obviously this is a very important area so you need to make sure that this is a good service. BetBright offers several ways to get in contact.
Firstly, you can use the live chat which is available from 8am until midnight. These queries are normally answered very quickly by very knowledgeable support staff. It is definitely a good option if you want to talk with someone straight away. Another option for immediate contact is the BetBright telephone number +44 (0)800 011 9630 which is a free phone number for anyone in the UK. Again, these lines are manned between 8am and midnight and the agent will answer your query in just minutes.
If you wish to send an email then you can contact them directly on email@example.com. Obviously this will take longer to answer, normally in around 24-hours or less, so this is only really to be recommended if it is non-urgent. Our only issue is that it isn’t easy to locate the contact details on site. You need to go into the side menu; then go into the help centre; click on about us; then click on contact us. Generally we prefer more easily accessible contact details.
Having said that, the FAQ section is fantastic. You can find out all sorts of answers to queries about banking, bonuses, security and more all in one area. This is definitely somewhere you should visit before contacting customer service as there’s every chance this would answer your query.
It’s very easy to log-in and sign-up as these buttons are located in the top right hand corner. Underneath, you can choose whether you want to access the sports, in-play, casino, games or live casino. Once you hit sports, the most popular sports are listed on scroll-able bar menu beneath it. However, if you can’t see what you need, simply click on the three lines beside the logo and you’ll get a drop down menu with everything. From here you can access all the sports, the help centre, responsible gambling, BetBright blog, the in-play and offers. You can also convert your odds from fractions to decimals.
Along the centre of the home page you will see all the featured in-play events that are currently happening in greyhounds, horse racing, football and other top events.
It is very simple to navigate around. However, it doesn’t include a search function which would improve it even more. All in all it is attractive and easy to use, great for newbies that don’t want to be confused by too many things going on at once.
The BetBright mobile app looks very aesthetically pleasing – more so, even, than the desktop site. It is pretty much the same, but where it is on a smaller interface, the simplicity works better. Because it is very similar in design to the desktop, if you are familiar with that, then finding your way around the mobile app is a doddle. You can get to all the different areas in just a few scrolls and clicks.
The mobile app gives you access to everything that is available on the desktop site so depositing and withdrawing, seeking assistance and placing bets works very much in the same manner. In fact it appears that BetBright have focussed on this more than the website as the mobile app is even quicker and slicker.
Not only can you play BetBright mobile in the browser, but you can also download it onto iOS and Android, direct from the App Store or Google Play Store.
BetBright does simplicity well. It works on the desktop and it works on the mobile app even more. It is quick, easy to use and offers everything you want from BetBright at the touch of a button.
BetBright is new to the market and it does show. There is a lot to commend it though. Firstly, it is incredibly easy to use and navigate, which is great. It also offers fantastic odds and markets for the main UK sports such as horse racing and football. You can’t go wrong with BetBright if this is your main area of interest. Also the mobile product is great and the customer service agents are really helpful. There are a few issues though, such as the banking options and withdrawal limitations; the lack of a search function and the bonuses and promotions it has on offer.
However, with BetBright looking to expand quickly in the next year or so; hopefully it will iron out issues and we are expecting great things from this bookmaker in the future. The future is BetBright…
